Frequently Asked Questions

Have a specific question?

How does the residual payment work in a novated lease?

We assess your building’s electrical capacity, parking, and resident demand,
install load management systems, handle switchboard upgrades, and
ensure strata compliance.

What if resident EV uptake increases?

WhipSmart’s infrastucture is scalable and future-proof, so more EV’s or charging points can be added as demand grows.

How do we allocate costs among residents?

This is up to you! But, we suggest that costs are shared based on usage or access. For example, residents pay for the electricity they use when charging a borrowing EV.

Do we need council or body corporate approval?

Yes, installing shared EV infrastructure will typically require body corporate approval, and in some cases council permits depending on the building type.

WhipSmart will be there to guide the process.

Can shared EVs be managed without staff?

Yes, WhipSmart’s system is fully automated, so residents can book, unlock and use shared EVs through an app.

What ongoing maintenance is required?

Very little. WhipSmart handles all charging infrastructure and vehicle maintenance, keeping the equipment in top condition.
